Marugame International Exchange Association was established in 1991 in order to promote citizens' keen awareness of cosmopolitan and to make an intimate friendship with people who have different cultures.

| International Exchange Association is in charge to promote friendship between Marugame and both two cities: City of San Sebastian (International Sister City, Spain) and Zhangjiagang City (International Friendship City, China). For example the association works for dispatching junior high school mission to San Sebastian or welcoming international friends from these two cities. |
| Japanese Language Class （外国人のための日本語教室） |
| Japanese Language Class is open for non-Japanese friends living in Marugame. Beginner's class and intermediate class are open every Wednesday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Marugame Lifelong Learning Center （Shogai Gakushu Center）. |
| Offering Opportunities for Janapese and non-Japanese to Get Along （行事） |
| International Exchange Association holds some events for Japanese and non-Japanese residents to get together; for instance, international cooking class, year-end party and so on. |
| Information Service （情報提供） |
| You can borrow books of Marugame's sister city and friendship city, also videotapes introducing Japanese culture etc. Additionally International Exchange Association publishes newsletter in Japanese, English, Chinese and Spanish however it is issued irregularly. |
| Making Network with Volunteers （ボランティア登録など） |
| Volunteer interpreters and volunteer Japanese teachers are registered in the list of our office. (However they are not professional.) International Exchange Association introduces these volunteers if you need help. Also some familes are registered as host families who can welcome non-Japanese friends to stay at their houses and experience Japanese culture. |

| International Exchange Association has a membership of over 100. Anyone who sympathizes with our policy toward internationalization of Marugame City can get membership. Members of the association will be invited you to our international events by sending letters. |
